The software terminals are identical but virtual copies of the hardware version, which can be installed on PCs connected to a TCP/IP network, such as computers used by clerks. This is very convenient because it saves space on the clerk’s desk and the application window size can be decreased or increased. Another advantage of the software terminal is that its installation is faster and cheaper than for the hardware version.
